Poly Jiangmen Factory Regeneration Conceptual MP
CallisonRTKL provides a needed urban boost while honoring history in Jiangmen City.
The CallisonRTKL-designed master plan for a 1-KM mixed-use site in the eastern part of Jiangmen City takes advantage of the waterfront location and local industrial heritage to create a new cultural sightseeing destination. Balancing historic preservation of the sugarcane factory and the surrounding area with the need for urban regeneration, the design team carefully integrated historic red brick buildings into a new industrial park with media, retail, office and residential offerings. A riverfront promenade links the yacht harbor, activity plaza, piers, heritage garden, museum, outdoor amphitheater, theater and the old train station, while offering visitors beautifully landscaped green space and scenic views.
