Columbia Center Podium Remodel
An authentic slice of urban life in Seattle.
Infused with a new collection of programs, the Columbia Center Podium Remodel will serve as a community hub for social interaction (a “third place”) for building tenants and neighborhood residents, as well as provide a place where visitors can experience an authentic slice of urban life in Seattle. New amenities were implemented and tailored for all to enjoy, while the building’s hours were extended beyond the standard work day.
Columbia Center key design feature, is the new grand staircase within the atrium space, that integrates and expands seating options between the building’s renewed Fourth Avenue entryway and Level 2. This creates a strong sense of orientation amongst Columbia Center’s retail environment, while facilitating vertical circulation in the space. In addition, it serves as a communal gathering space that allows tenants, shoppers and visitors to mingle and socialize.
Other changes include the renovation of the two-story Fourth Avenue entryway with a decorative green wall; new flooring, lighting and a suspended baffle ceiling for the retail concourse and dining terrace. The fourth level terrace also includes a new fireplace; and a covered patio, stadium seating and firepit, along with new and refurbished planters with integrated lighting located at the Fifth Avenue entry plaza.
