First Energy Lakeshore

CallisonRTKL was commissioned by First Energy to repurpose and master plan the former site of a coal-fired power plant located at 70th Street and Lakefront in Cleveland, Ohio. Working with the city’s planning commission and in alignment with Cleveland’s Comprehensive Plan for development, our team proposed a regeneration scheme known as the Reuse Plan to transform the sole remaining site north of the rail line that has not yet been converted to public, private or non-industrial uses. The result: a commercially viable, practical and achievable vision for the site grounded in context, market trends and legacy structures that builds on overlapping objectives, including employment growth, efficient transit, residential needs and amenity programs.
