Victory Park Block D involved transforming a mundane parking structure into an iconic block of retail, restaurants, and parking. The unexpected fusion of eye-catching murals integrated with artistic signage and wayfinding creates a memorable experience that inspires curiosity and creativity, amplifies the spirit of Victory Park and brings visitors back again and again.

Bringing culture and commerce together in one contemporary neighborhood. That’s Dallas, Texas’ South Victory or SoVi district. This immersive area features a unique collection of restaurants and retail, public art and a one-acre park. When they wanted to redefine the existing parking garage with wayfinding and transform the interior of the bland structure into a dynamic art installation, the client turned to CallisonRTKL for a solution. In addition to master planning and architecture, CallisonRTKL designed exterior garage identification, colorful interior signage, creative wayfinding and environmental graphic design.

The design enhances a visitor’s journey, inspiring curiosity and creativity, amplifying the spirit of Victory Park and reflecting the new SoVi brand. Each level of the parking garage has its own color and art mural making wayfinding easier for visitors. Additionally, the signage is bright and colorful to enhance the dimly lit garage, with graphic patterns, a hand-sketched arrow incorporated into the signage and art murals on every level that tie in with the color scheme. These artistic elements were then translated to an exterior garage identification package and wayfinding system. SoVi elevates the typical parking garage and process into an artistic and inspiring Instagram-worthy experience.
