Large, back-lit custom screens, walnut veneer casework with brushed brass accents and granite plinths for showcased brands are just a few of the design elements included in the CallisonRTKL-designed Harrods Opticians Shop in Knightsbridge, London. The updated retail space celebrates Harrods’ Art Deco history while elevating the design to enhance the luxury experience. CallisonRTKL drew influence from the intimacy of a custom-designed wardrobe and borrowed elements from haberdashery and pharmacy.
With adaptable additions like a front-door graphic that can be changed out periodically to promote brand launches, the shop manages to expertly display a large quantity of products while still achieving a curated display of luxury eyewear.
