Sutter Health, California Pacific Medical Center Mission Bernal Campus and Van Ness Campus San Francisco, California These two new urban replacement hospitals combine three existing hospitals onto two different campuses in downtown San Francisco. Merging these distinct cultures while concurrently introducing new, advanced healthcare technologies provides unique opportunities to improve patient care. CallisonRTKL equipment planning and transition services worked together on this Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) project to optimize results. 217,475-SF Mission Bernal Campus and 765,000-SF Van Ness Campus 90-bed replacement hospital (Mission Bernal Campus) and 274-bed replacement hospital (Van Ness Campus) for two existing hospitals (Pacific Campus and California Campus) 151 departments moved including a 44-bed NICU 28 patients moved to Mission Bernal Campus and 176 patients moved three miles to Van Ness Campus Mission Bernal Campus opened in August 2018 Van Ness Campus opened in March 2019
Washington Hospital Healthcare System, Morris Hyman Critical Care Pavilion Fremont, California Washington Hospital needed an upgrade not only to ensure the hospital was able to continue to provide care in the event of a disaster, such as an earthquake, but also to continue serving the growing population throughout the Washington Township Health Care District, which encompasses Fremont, Newark, Union City, unincorporated Sunol and part of South Hayward. Originally designed to serve a community of 18,000 people, an expanded Emergency Room and progressive Critical Care Unit were much needed to meet the current and projected community size. CallisonRTKL provided transition services for the new 3-story pavilion; step two in the WHHS long-range master plan. 224,800-SF expansion 36-bed Emergency Department 48-bed critical care unit 68-bed telemetry, oncology, and intermediate care unit Biomedical department, a PBX department, and enlarged data center 10 departments moved 57 patients moved Moved in November 2018
Tomah Health Tomah, Wisconsin Opened in the Fall of 2019, this $45.7 million three-story hospital replaced the 25 bed Tomah Memorial critical access hospital in Tomah, Wisconsin that was opened in 1952. Tomah Health advances excellence in care by inspiring health, wellness and balance for patients, families and their community. CallisonRTKL provided transition services designed to optimize the various patient-centered efficiencies that are part of the new hospital design. 140,000-SF acute care and medical campus 25-bed replacement hospital 29 departments moved Moved 9 patients a distance of 2 miles Moved October 1, 2019
Adventist HealthCare White Oak Medical Center Silver Spring, Maryland The Adventist HealthCare Washington Adventist Hospital opened a new LEED certified replacement hospital, White Oak Medical Center, designed to continue Washington Adventist Hospital’s 109-year legacy of providing exceptional healthcare to the community. The new hospital models to improve clinical efficiency and features all-private beds and an emergency department planned to accommodate 50,000 to 60,000 visits per year. CallisonRTKL provided budget analysis, transition occupancy planning, personnel preparedness and move management services for this new 8-level hospital. 430,000-SF acute care and medical campus 170-bed replacement hospital 40 departments moved 76 patients moved a distance of 7 miles Moved August 25, 2019
