Herbert C. Hoover Building
An influential Washington, DC office building gets a refresh.
Upon its completion in 1932, the 1.8 million-SF Herbert C. Hoover Building was declared the largest single office building in the world. Home to the Department of Commerce, this Federal Triangle structure is currently undergoing an eight-phase renovation project with construction administration services led by CallisonRTKL. In addition to creating a modern work environment for the DOC’s 3,200 employees, the plan includes careful preservation and restoration of historic areas throughout the building. The project is currently tracking points for LEED Gold certification.
