Rogers 302 is Canada’s First 5G-Ready Store

NEW YORK CITY, New York – April 2, 2020 – CallisonRTKL has designed Canada’s first 5G-ready store with Rogers 302: a technology retail hub reimagining the Rogers branded customer experience.

As technology evolves at a rapid pace, it’s critical customers can discern options to unlock the power and potential of innovation. Rogers 302 is designed with the customer at the front of mind – the carefully curated experience allows for ease in the understanding of new technology with the guidance of a knowledgeable expert. The 9,000 square foot space in the heart of downtown Toronto delivers an unrivaled in-store experience showcasing the latest wireless, connected home technology and media content for consumers and businesses. Interactive zones and dedicated spaces for events and exhibits feature cutting-edge technology from across Rogers and its industry-leading partners.

The first 5G-ready retail space in the country is equipped with 5G network technology and spectrum. When Rogers 5G network goes live, Rogers 302 will be Toronto’s premier destination for our customers to experience all the benefits of 5G technology for the home, business, and all aspects of connected living.

“We collaborated in multiple sessions with the Rogers internal client teams, partners and consultants to identify the most relevant opportunities to build into the experience,” says Lily Olsson, Associate Vice President in CRTKL’s New York City office. “We landed on a flexible event space, supported by the agora seating around the staircase, which can be taken over by brand activations and pop-ups, as well as live events – like Google’s Pixelville pop-up. We identified a space on the ground floor for an immersive, digitally facilitated experience that is flexible enough to support celebrity singing holograms, virtual DJs, and interactive projecting experiences.”

The design consists of Unique Connected Living spaces, like the Google pop-up retail space, that allow visitors to test the latest smart home products and experience the simplicity of connected living powered by Rogers services. Additionally, a contemporary, in-store café and event space offers visitors a variety of hands-on experiences in an elevated branded environment enhancing the overall shopping experience.

“We designed the café to support the retail and community spaces and an upstairs to leverage Rogers’ B2B offering,” adds Olsson. “On the lower level, the focus is on entertainment and customer experience, while upstairs offers an executive briefing room with an interactive 5G gallery wall and co-working space.”

Dedicated ambassadors deliver personalized support to our customers during their in-store experience, while highly trained product experts have the flexibility to serve customers throughout the store. A specialized service area provides unparalleled, on-the-spot solutions for hardware issues or device upgrades.
