DALLAS—May 28, 2019—Sir Richard Branson broke ground on Thursday, May 23, for Virgin Hotels New Orleans at 550 Baronne Street, in the up-and-coming Warehouse District. Global architecture firm CallisonRTKL is the design architect of the five-star, 14-story boutique hotel.

The 164,000-SF location features a rooftop pool and bar as well as a common area on the ground floor which will include a coffee shop, library, bar and lounge. With 225 keys, the hotel includes single and double guest rooms and deluxe suites, many with corner terraces. The location will also include a ballroom, multiple meeting and event spaces, a gym and two penthouses.

Virgin Hotels NOLA is expected to open to guests in 2021 and will be the seventh hotel location for the brand.
