A finalist in the Apartment Development of the Year category and part of the Manchester Life portfolio, Lampwick Quay completed in Autumn 2021, providing 213 build-to-rent apartments and a core placemaking strategy around New Islington Marina.
Respecting the context of the existing urban fabric, the building has lower pitched roofs set in front of larger, warehouse-inspired typologies. The specification and scale of materials further defines the separate elements of the development giving Lampwick Quay a strong identity, encapsulated by the gold zinc entrance.
With active frontages along the public-facing elevations, the development introduces enhanced landscaping to the canal basin and canal arm boundaries, benefitting tenants as well as the wider community.
The winners of this year’s awards will be announced at a black-tie dinner on 28 April at Manchester Central.
