WASHINGTON, D.C. – June 4, 2020 – CallisonRTKL is designing Boxyard RTP: a 15,000 square foot cargotecture development coming to the Frontier Research Triangle Park (RTP) campus in North Carolina in 2020. Plans for Boxyard RTP include space for up to nine food and beverage vendors, as well as several retailers and service providers.

At Research Triangle Park, Boxyard RTP’s 38 prefabricated shipping containers are modular and can be stacked to ensure minimal nature disturbance during construction. The modular design is also flexible enough to accommodate the needs of different vendors.

“We’re most excited about the unification potential of Boxyard RTP,” says Tom Hippman, project manager at CRTKL. “It will serve as a much-needed hub for RTP’s corporate tenants—with many flexible retail and food and beverage options, this will be an ever-evolving space to work, shop and play.”
