In partnership with Agave Holdings, LLC, Loews Coral Gables Hotel is part of The Plaza Coral Gables. The new hotel is uniquely designed to embrace the significant local culture, style, and history. Created with beauty, sustainability, and mindful balance as a top priority, it incorporates a 1-acre public plaza facing Ponce de Leon Blvd. and the newly enhanced Ponce Circle Park. The Plaza Coral Gables is the adjacent location offering a full range of world-class services and a unique blend of tradition, heritage, and innovation. These services provide convenient community opportunities, including modern and premier office spaces, phenomenal street-level shopping, casual and formal dining, and residential living interlaced by a lush tropical landscape pedestrian network.

CRTKL’s plan for the architecture of The Plaza Coral Gables project was to create a unique combination of buildings built over time. To infuse the project with authenticity, originality, and newness, the CRTKL team spent time researching and studying architecture from various Spanish regions around the Mediterranean. Additionally, the team visited numerous historic buildings around Coral Gables to create an autochthonous landmark that will become a future point of interest for the city. The team’s plan to place the Loews Coral Gables Hotel as the grand centerpiece of the project is as if they’re forecasting an iconic status for its monumental architecture, design, and location.

The CRTKL team found inspiration for the hotel’s plush interiors in the rich distinctiveness of Spain’s expansive and vibrant culture, profound history, and the traditional, fast-paced Pasodoble dance. The hotel’s lobby reflects the masculine element of the 18th-century dance, with polished marble stone floors, neutral colors, decorative screens, and circular light fixtures that evoke the military motions of the dance. The conference areas and ballroom exude feminine rendering with sublime floor coverings and striking light fixtures reminiscent of the delicate lace mantilla veil.

The lace-patterned carpet leads to a portal evocative of enormous Spanish wooden doors welcoming guests to their stately rooms. Enticing details of red burst throughout, as if igniting the passion and sensuality of the Pasodoble. The guestrooms combine the culmination of this passionate dance, with both dancers depicted in the sophisticated design created by the CRTKL Miami team.
