CallisonRTKL Promotes Ten to Top Posts

Global architecture and design firm CRTKL names eight vice presidents and two directors to their leadership team, along with more than 250 other promotions around the world.

BALTIMORE—April 19, 2018—CallisonRTKL, the global architecture, planning and design firm, has named eight vice presidents: Lucy Baraquio and Michelle McCormick in Seattle, Grace Cheng in Los Angeles, Richard Huang and Sarah Kimes in Dallas, Atilio Leveratto in New York, Stephen Stokes in Chicago, and Yen Liu in Beijing.

The firm has also named Steven Greenberg director in Dubai, Erik Mueller-Ali director in London and announced more than 250 other global promotions. All of these leaders bring diverse experience and expertise to CallisonRTKL’s commercial, healthcare, retail and workplace practice groups.

Those newly elevated to leadership positions include:

Lucy Baraquio AIA, LEED AP
Vice President, Seattle

A leader in the specialty retail sector, Lucy Baraquio has an extensive international background in commercial design and retail brand implementation. A licensed architect with more than 20 years in the industry, her experience in developing teams across diverse cultures and markets informs her collaborative approach to design and project management. Given her broad, international perspective, Lucy’s focus is on strategic development in the global market.

Grace Cheng AIA, LEED AP BD+C
Vice President, Los Angeles

Grace Cheng is a leader in the commercial office sector and a licensed architect with more than 24 years in the industry. With an expertise in mixed-use design and a focus on towers, she has a diverse global portfolio that includes waterfront developments, corporate campuses and headquarters, as well as cultural institutions and museums. Her work is notable for its strong contemporary motifs that acknowledge both context and culture. Grace’s unique skill set has led to numerous industry and design awards.

Steven Greenberg AIA, LEED AP
Director, Dubai

A licensed architect, Steven Greenberg is a leader in CallisonRTKL’s worldwide hospitality team where he focuses currently focuses on urban and resort projects.  Steven brings firsthand knowledge and a great depth of experience to space planning, hotel programming, operations design and concept development within his architectural team. His expertise also includes the project management of large-scale mixed-use retail and entertainment-based developments across Asia and the Middle East.

Richard Huang AIA, LEED AP
Vice President, Dallas

Richard Huang has nearly 30 years of professional experience in a diverse range of projects and consulting services throughout the U.S., Canada and China. A leader in CRTKL’s commercial practice group, Richard’s business development and leadership talents have contributed to his expansive portfolio which includes urban planning and design, as well as commercial, entertainment and tourism development projects.

Sarah Kimes, LEED Green Associate
Vice President, Dallas

Sarah Kimes is a leader in CallisonRTKL’s environments studio, which specializes in human-centered design and the creation of branded environments. As a brand strategist, Sarah brings the complementary components of research, analysis and design thinking to the firm’s architectural design process. She specializes in complex, multi-stakeholder projects and incorporates user-experience insights to deliver smartly branded destinations that positively impact people and communities.

Atilio Leveratto, NCARB, LEED Green Associate RA
Vice President, New York

Atilio Leveratto is a leader in the luxury retail sector. With more than 15 years in the industry, he specializes in architecture for retail flagships, spearheading the realization of complex, bespoke facades with functional and complementary core and shell elements. His innovative architectural design skills are apparent in the successful projects he has delivered on the most fashionable streets in the U.S., including Fifth Avenue and Rodeo Drive.

Yen Liu, LEED AP BD+C, LEED Green Associate
Vice President, Beijing

A leader in the commercial practice group, Yen Liu specializes in shopping and entertainment districts. His extensive design experience in both commercial-driven planning, retail centers, outlets and mixed-use projects benefit his clients who rely on his design and planning expertise for their high-profile projects throughout China.

Michelle McCormick, LEED Green Associate
Vice President, Seattle

Michelle McCormick is a leader in the firm’s specialty retail sector where she directs national retail design initiatives—from concept design through rollout and implementation—for internationally-renowned consumer brands. With more than 25 years in the industry, Michelle provides strategic development for the practice and supervises the retail design team. As a client manager, she oversees the organization of new client initiatives, as well as the daily operations.

Erik Mueller-Ali
Director, London

With more than two decades in the industry, Erik Mueller-Ali is a leader in the firm’s London office. Developing user experiences that communicate a brand’s identity and values, he creates retail and commercial environments that attract and engage. Erik is passionate about data driven design and looks for solutions that simplify how people interact with their surroundings while bringing clarity and joy to the space.

Stephen Stokes, AIA, LEED Green Associate, CLGB
Vice President, Chicago

Stephen Stokes is a design leader in CallisonRTKL’s healthcare practice group and brings to the team more than 25 years of comprehensive design and planning experience. Stephen’s expansive portfolio, from large urban academic hospitals to sprawling medical center campuses, demonstrates his deep understanding of healthcare design and the dramatic evolution in healthcare delivery.
