Jim Henry joins global design consultancy as leader of healthcare sector
DALLAS – December 3, 2018 – CallisonRTKL, the global architecture, planning and design practice, welcomes Jim Henry AIA as Senior Vice President and leader of the healthcare sector.
“Today’s healthcare market is changing at the speed of technology,” says Brad Barker, executive vice president and global practice group leader for healthcare. “Jim knows where the industry is heading because he’s helping define its future.” Barker, who has been with CRTKL for 33 years, retires at the end of this year.
Henry started his career at CallisonRTKL (then known as RTKL) and, over the last 18 years, has emerged as both a design leader and one of the industry’s most innovative thinkers—a truly creative professional who understands healthcare’s operational demands as much as the centrality of the human experience.
“I am honored to lead this next chapter for healthcare at CallisonRTKL,” Henry said. “I started my architectural career here and have always admired the firm’s focus on design excellence across retail, commercial, health and science. Design is a catalyst for change, and I look forward to bringing new energy and experience to our teams and the marketplace.”
In 2015, Henry received the AIA Young Architect Award, given to practitioners who have shown exceptional leadership and made significant contributions to the profession in an early stage of their career. He was named a “40 Under 40” professional by Building Design & Construction magazine and one of “20 Under 40” leaders in Texas and Louisiana by Engineering News-Record. He will work closely with Barker in the coming weeks to ensure a smooth leadership succession and define the direction for the group.
Henry joins CRTKL from HDR where he worked on some of that firm’s most visible and complex commissions. His work history, collaborative approach and passion for human-centric design make him an ideal catalyst for growth at CRTKL.
