NEW YORK, NY — April 1, 2019 — In conjunction with NYCxDesign, CallisonRTKL will host three design-inspired events at their new office in the Woolworth Building in downtown Manhattan. NYCxDesign is a citywide celebration of design, open to the public and held throughout all five boroughs, this year from May 10-22, 2019.
“The Woolworth Building: Designing for the Next Generation,” will kick off the 3-part series. Alex Saltzman, the Alchemy Properties developer for the condominium conversion at The Woolworth Building, and Clayton Whitman, the CallisonRTKL designer who led the transformation of the building’s 16th floor into a collaborative workplace, will discuss adaptive reuse of the architectural icon. This event will take place on Monday, May 13 from 6 to 9 pm.
CallisonRTKL will also host “Fueling Change Through Design,” a hands-on workshop exploring how design can change habits and create a better future on May 14 from 4 to 6 pm. And finally, “Brands Bringing It—Dissecting Phygital Retail Experiences,” will feature a panel of guests from SoulCycle, Nike SNKRS and InStyle magazine discussing how brands are responding to evolving consumer behaviors and what trends they see in the future. The event will be held on Tuesday, May 14 from 6 to 8 pm.
