Betsy Friedman Talks With Retrofit About The New Office

In The News | January 18, 2018

Residential and commercial lines are blurring, largely driven by the integration of technology in our buildings. The workplace is taking their queue by creating more laid back and open environments. The number of telecommuters is increasing, and people are constantly juggling daily activities and work, bringing home into the office and vice versa. This new, adaptive style of design is referred to as resi-mercial.

“A resi-mercial environment that provides a home-like setting will reduce employee stress and boost their productivity,” said CRTKL Senior Designer, Betsy Friedman. Gone are the days of cubicles and fluorescent lighting; open layouts, huddle rooms, pantries and collaborative work areas are the new norm.
