A shopping center at the end of its useful life is reimagined as a vibrant, 21st-century, mixed-use community.
The Fashion Mall in Plantation, FL opened in 1988 as one of the first luxury shopping centers in the region. Fast forward nearly three decades, and CRTKL has returned to the site it originally designed to facilitate a transformation that better serves the local community now and into the future. The design concept is reminiscent of a time when neighborhoods were built for two feet rather than four wheels, establishing smart pedestrian connectivity and a balanced mix of homes, offices, hotels, shops, restaurants and parks around a central main street and town square. The result is a new development where convenience and quality of life are the goal, enabling residents to engage in recreational, cultural and educational offerings within steps of their homes or offices.
