For the “World’s Best Ham” company, CallisonRTKL developed a full brand refresh program for Honey Baked Ham’s national retail stores. The restaurant giant wanted to reinforce its existing brand that has been in place since Honey Backed Ham’s founding in 1957 while also appealing to the tastes of a new, younger demographic.

The brand’s new exterior features white brick paired with bold red-orange branded awnings and signage. The dark trim adds contrast and a modern feel that translates to the interiors where gray trim, warm woods and custom gingham wallcovering add a welcoming personality to the updated branding.

One of the goals of the refresh was to make a distinction between the in-store dining experience and the pick-up retail operations that are flexible enough to ramp up to accommodate more customers during peak times– more than 21 million pounds of ham and turkey sold to more than two million homes during the holiday seasons! Dining tables and chairs can be relocated, while merchandise fixtures can be rearranged with stanchions to support the long lines of customers hungry for their perfect holiday meal. For those who want to skip the line, online ordering provides added convenience.

By cultivating the next generation of “Ham Fans” through a new design and product offerings, Honey Baked Ham continues to be a modern – yet nostalgic – piece of everyone’s holiday memories.
