Dalian Duty Free Store

To create visual connection between four separate store spaces across two levels, CallisonRTKL designed a consistent storefront with a dimensional texture and floating sign system. The firm also designed a sculptural stair feature connecting the two floors to create an eye-catching visual focal point that can also serve as a special product display.

When state-owned China National Service Corporation for Chinese Personnel Working Abroad (CNSC) wanted to strategically partner with an international firm to elevate their presence as a luxury travel retailer, it tasked CallisonRTKL to develop the largest downtown duty-free store in the Northeast China Region. The 3,300sqm luxury duty free store caters only to Chinese who have returned from abroad within the past six months, and offers homewares, gifts, food products to luxury products, leather goods, and cosmetics and fragrances.
