Capstar Commercial, a real estate services company based in Dallas, acquired a telecommunications equipment plant with plans to redevelop the facility into an 80 MW, Tier III data center for multiple high-tech companies. CallisonRTKL was commissioned to design a retrofit for a space that is equivalent to the size of twelve football fields. The team was challenged with making the 700,000 SF facility accessible to multiple data center tenants with highly-individualized power demands. The solution included a unique utility interface, allowing for four separate data center tenants. The completed facility is a next-generation design that meets the growing demands of mission critical operations.
