WASHINGTON, D.C.—February 11, 2020—CallisonRTKL-designed hospital Adventist HealthCare White Oak Medical Center was featured on the cover of Medical Construction + Design Magazine’s January/February issue with an accompanying cover story written by Vice President Ray Brower and Senior Associate Vice President Alice Wainwright.

The piece describes how biophilia, the hypothesis that humans possess an innate tendency to connect with nature, was used as a guiding design principle to encourage healing in the space.

Brower is CallisonRTKL’s national strategic planning leader and senior medical planner for the healthcare sector. Wainwright is an experienced healthcare executive and the leader of CallisonRTKL’s Facilities Transitioning Team.
