NEW YORK CITY, New York – May 27, 2020 – Clayton Whitman, Associate VP in CallisonRTKL’s New York City office, joined a roundtable with other AEC leaders to discuss the challenges, solutions, and future of the industry on BDE’s webinar “Design and Manufacturers: Let’s Talk.” This is the third installation in the series.
Clayton spoke to the pandemic’s likely effect on space density and layout as well as the shifting of consumer expectations for these spaces. He speaks to the evolution of coworking specifically as well, wondering whether the fear of social interaction will outweigh the desire for interpersonal connection in the short and long term.
As a multidisciplinary designer in the workplace sector, Clayton researches trends in the design world and beyond and partners with teams to translate them into effective designs. He acts as a source for both ideas and technical expertise– spanning FF&E materials to LEED specifications. He often facilitates product research, development and manufacturer coordination with the main emphasis on workplaces for luxury retail clients.
