NEW YORK, NY – February 11, 2020 — CallisonRTKL, the global architecture, planning and design practice, announces that Kyle A. D. McGahan has joined the firm as Head of Lighting. McGahan will be located in the company’s New York City office and will work with CRTKL offices globally. He is an award-winning multidisciplinary designer who embraces the ever-expanding power and narrative that lighting, technology and design contribute to the built environment and how, together, they shape the human experience.

Over the last decade, McGahan has worked across disciplines to guide strategies for lighting and controls on a broad range of architectural projects spanning in scale, complexity and type. Prior to joining CRTKL, Kyle served as Senior Designer and Project Manager at Lumen Architecture, PLLC where he worked with a diverse team and clients.
Informed by his background in architecture, lighting, theater arts, technical production and community design-build, McGahan brings a collaborative approach to the design process. He will continue to build connections across CRTKL’s rich network of professional creatives and invest in the future to amplify the potential of CRTKL’s lighting team.

McGahan received a Master of Architecture and Master of Fine Arts in Lighting Design from Parsons School of Design and a Bachelor of Arts in Theater Lighting Design and Technical Production at Marymount Manhattan College.
As an active member of the professional lighting community, Kyle teaches advanced graduate-level courses in Professional Practice and a Lighting Design Studio at Parsons School of Design.
