Public grand opening scheduled for Saturday, May 12 from 11am – 2pm with Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns as special guest host.
May 12, 2018—American bowling powerhouse, Bowlero, opens its doors in Scottsdale, Arizona today. In the epicenter of Scottsdale, just minutes from Fashion Square, the new addition brings 24 bowling lanes, unique finishes and a one-of-a-kind retro space.
“They’re willing to take on anything and be very outside the box in the way they think. They are also trying to bring something to the public that’s very different,” said David Asfour, vice president of luxury retail in CRTKL’s New York office.
In true Bowlero fashion, Bowlers and diners can find quirky elements sprinkled throughout the 32,000-SF renovated space. Funky lights, graffiti along the bar, neon signage, a vintage airstream trailer turned food truck, high-def graphics to emulate shipping containers and a vintage car for selfies are just a few of the finds. Culinary and cocktail creations with a twist on American cuisine are made to order with varied dining and seating options.
“The inspiration is drawn from retro-vintage found objects. Old is cool, again. Vintage has character. The selection of each furniture, fixture and finish has been personalized to showcase the vibe of the brand,” said Ho Cheuk Choi, associate vice president of luxury retail in CRTKL’s New York office.
CallisonRTKL’s team worked with Bowlero throughout the design process. The global architecture and design consultancy was named the number one retail design firm in the world for the second year in a row and has worked on some of the most memorable retail experiences in the world, including the REI Washington, DC flagship, the AT&T store on Chicago’s Michigan Avenue and London Jewelers in New York.
