Eau Spa

The Eau Spa has become one of the most highly acclaimed spas in the world, due in large part to CallisonRTKL’s interior design. Evoking a garden paradise, CallisonRTKL’s design combines a modern interpretation of Baroque style, the serenity of the outdoors and a color palette inspired by earth, wind, fire and ice. An open-air sanctuary sits at the heart of the spa, enclosing water features, fragrant flowers, and quiet enclaves. The design team paid particular attention to circulation and layout to shape the most relaxing experience possible as guests move through various public and private areas.

AC Hotel South San Francisco

The simple yet distinctive silhouette of San Francisco’s AC Hotel is designed to draw guests in like a hearth at night. True to the city’s sustainability goals, the hotel design promotes the use of bicycling, low-emitting and fuel-efficient cars, limited disruption of natural water flow, and the use of recycled and salvaged materials.

Celebrity Cruises

CallisonRTKL used consumer insight to develop a new standard in cruise ship design for Celebrity. Based on research showing that women are the principal decision-makers in vacation planning, the new line of ships gives women what they want. CallisonRTKL designed the state rooms, restaurants and spa spaces to exceed the high expectations of discerning female guests, creating a “boutique hotel at sea” experience while reinforcing a cohesive brand identity. CallisonRTKL has designed multiple spaces on the Celebrity Solstice, Equinox, Eclipse, Silhouette and Reflection.

Inspired by the architecture and atmosphere of the Texas Hill Country, the CRTKL-designed Lone Star Court Hotel in Austin is part of Valencia’s new brand of boutique hotels that aims to capture the distinctive character of each location. Double-pitch roofs, deep porches, and outdoor courtyards are part of the Texas ranch aesthetic and native landscaping perfectly fits the terrain. Featuring 123 retro-inspired rooms and a design scheme focused on local materials, the hotel is in line with one of the biggest trends in hospitality and urban design—creating a hotel that is also a community asset with a public park accessible to guests and area residents.

Taking cues from the stunning natural surroundings, the rich color palette features shades of blue, green and amber complemented by warm wood finishes, creating harmony between the interior and the great outdoors.

Power of Less

In a world where abundance is king, hotels are often judged by “how much” they can offer their guests. But what if a great hospitality experience could be defined by “how little?” CallisonRTKL’s L.E.S.S. (Livable Environmentally Sustainable Suite) model changes the conversation about hotel design by filling a niche for cool, affordable and sustainable. The holistic concept occupies an efficient footprint while maximizing the guest experience and educating people on how to become active participants in creating a greener world.
