Arcadis Urban Land Restoration Index

CallisonRTKL Parent Company Arcadis Releases Urban Land Restoration Index

Arcadis has released their Urban Land Restoration Index, a report that ranks the development potential of environmentally impaired land across 27 U.S. cities. CallisonRTKL Vice President Doug McCoach contributed to the report.

“The populations of city centers are growing at a rapid rate, and we need to design for this growth,” McCoach said. “This report helps illustrate the immense development potential of former industrial properties in our nation’s cities.”

McCoach leads CallisonRTKL’s planning and urban design studio in New York City. His urban regeneration and resiliency expertise was invaluable in the creation of the Urban Land Restoration Index.

The report details the challenges of the development of industrial surplus property, but also shows the land’s untapped potential. It names New York as the city with the most potential for urban redevelopment. Charlotte, Denver, Nashville and San Francisco follow New York.
