Mid-Century Modern Meets the Beach
Built as an Angeleno-style, outdoor retail center in the 1970s, Villa Marina Marketplace needed a refresh. CallisonRTKL’s design teams used clean lines, simple expressions of local materials and dynamic facades to welcome back the hip, local, beach-loving customers. The center’s initial success was seen when countless tenants took the opportunity to upgrade their interiors, some retailers going as far as launching entire re-branding campaigns.
