A New Landmark for World-Class Care
The new eight-level inpatient pavilion at Vassar Brothers Medical Center (VBMC) elevates the community by empowering this underutilized area of the Hudson Valley with a new patient-centered and efficient destination for care. Borrowing from the impacts of the nearby Mid-Hudson Bridge and Walkway over the Hudson River, the new pavilion revitalizes the campus with a sustainable medical center that will become a destination for world-class care, the flagship for Nuvance Health, and a long-lasting landmark for the region. CRTKL applied evidence-based design principles and leveraged our multi-disciplinary firm’s hospitality design expertise to provide a holistic, human-centered experience reminiscent of a hospitality space, rather than a medical facility. Through thoughtful master planning, our team studied the social, economic, and environmental factors impacting the surrounding area to design a long-lasting, efficient facility that will serve the community for years to come.
