U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives Recording Studio Relocations

CallisonRTKL was commissioned to provide a 580,000-SF screening and orientation center for visitors awaiting entry into the Capitol—a facility that would not only function effectively for security purposes, but also provide educational resources for the American public and international visitors in a setting befitting one of world’s most memorable structures. Part of these renovations required the relocation of both the House of Representatives and Senate recording studios to the Capitol Visitor Center. CallisonRTKL designed a facility that enhances visitor reception experience and strengthens building security while preserving an atmosphere of free public access.
