An outdated hospital facility undergoes renovation.
CallisonRTKL’s challenge with Tianjin Third Central Hospital was to make the old new again, respecting tradition and blending the new structure harmoniously with its complex site in downtown Tianjin. The 138,000-SM development was designed with high efficiency, modernism and sustainability in mind while keeping a focus first and foremost on patient care. CallisonRTKL’s design successfully overcame obstacles related to building density and solar analysis requirements, resulting in a built environment that will benefit the city and its people for years to come.
