Texas Center for Proton Therapy

The Dallas facility is intended as a prototype for future expansion into this market.

The Texas Center for Proton Therapy will provide services through Texas Oncology and will give patients in Texas and across the country advanced options in the fight against cancer, including the opportunity to participate in leading clinical trials through its relationship with US Oncology Research. The facility will be constructed with newer technology than first-generation facilities. IBA (Ion Beam Applications S.A.) has been selected to provide the proton technology, including their recently developed pencil beam scanning system. The 62,000-SF facility will include a proton cyclotron, two 360-degree isocentric-gantry treatment rooms, a fixed-beam treatment room and advanced image guidance technology, as well as MRI, PET-CT, CT simulation and a landscaped healing garden.
