CallisonRTKL designs modular data center for future growth.
Recognizing the advantages of scalable modular deployment to meet customer demands, TELUS engaged CallisonRTKL and Skanska as a design/build team to roll out a truly modular, flexible, and scalable data center framework. Based on a unique prefabricated server module and cooling system developed by Inertech, these facilities are designed to be constructed over multiple phases as demand grows. Each phase can support up to 2.7 MW of critical load, utilizing a modular Diesel Rotary UPS system (DRUPS), which provides operating efficiencies and scalability and meets demand on an as-needed basis without over-building capacity. These two projects are registered for LEED Gold certification in Canada.
