Central Hong Kong Waterfront Competition

Hong Kong's grand promenade creates a vibrant waterfront with a 24-hour cycle of activity.

A fitting tribute to one of the world’s major economic and cultural hubs, the master plan for Hong Kong’s waterfront formsĀ an emerald necklace with each jewel-like cluster organized around government and civic activity, heritage and culture or arts and events. Featuring some of the city’s most prominent new and restored landmarks, ncluding Star Ferry Clock Tower, Queen’s Pier, Harbour Heritage Centre and the Statue Square Esplanade, and rooted in sustainability, the plan provides the waterfront with 24/7 activity without compromising the quality of local natural resources through the inclusion of extensive native landscaping and green spaces.
