CallisonRTKL’s mixed-use master plan restores the civic heart of Britain’s most popular seaside resort.
In 2007, Blackpool Borough Council appointed MUSE Developments with CallisonRTKL as their partners for the regeneration of Talbot Gateway. The mixed-use master plan delivers the concept of sustainable placemaking while implementing a foundational regeneration for this once neglected part of Blackpool. The 12.8-hectare site is anchored by a large public square featuring retail, office and residential components. In conjunction with other emerging attractions, the master plan brings a much needed transformational change to the town centre, reestablishing Blackpool as a modern and thriving seaside resort for locals and visitors alike.
