Focusing on collaborative and social areas helped create a space that encourages engagement between employees and improves company culture.
CallisonRTKL’s approach was to create architectural elements and spaces emblematic of Appian’s culture while preserving as much of the existing interior fit-out as was practical. This surgical approach was challenging, as the new elements and spaces had to coordinate with the existing design language while speaking to this tech company’s ethos. The design team focused much attention on key areas of the space such as reception, lunch rooms and conferencing to create the greatest cultural impact. The result is a mixture of refined and modern front-of-house spaces and informal, fun social spaces against a backdrop of functional workspace.
