CallisonRTKL Wins 2016 APA Nevada Outstanding Plan Award

CRTKL took home the prize for the firm’s Vision 2045 Las Vegas Master Plan.

CallisonRTKL, in conjunction with the City of Las Vegas and the Department of Planning, took home the 2016 DeBoer Award for Excellence in Planning – Outstanding Plan Award from the Nevada chapter of the American Planning Association. Their project, Vision 2045, provides a master plan for the downtown area of Las Vegas. The team was honored for creating a plan that significantly advances the art and science of planning.

The new master plan encompasses more than 13 square miles and includes areas outside of Las Vegas’ main downtown area. Built on foundations of deep community engagement, Vision 2045 understands and caters to the needs of the community.

The project’s major themes include:

  • Promoting gaming and tourism in downtown through rebranding and marketing
  • Providing housing/community amenities, including more parks are green streets
  • Emphasizing education, mobility and better coordination of social services
  • Creating standards for renewable energy
  • Expanding retail and entertainment offerings
