CallisonRTKL Opens Berlin Office and Starts New Chapter in Europe

CallisonRTKL’s new Berlin office boasts local knowledge of the city while maintaining a global perspective befitting this truly international capital.

BERLIN—2016 October 4—CallisonRTKL, the global architecture, planning and design practice, has officially opened an office in Berlin. This opening establishes a platform for growth in Europe for the practice. It also serves as an entry point for work in Eastern Europe and Scandinavia.

CallisonRTKL selected Berlin for its high concentration of start-up and established businesses, its deep and creative history and its impressive pool of talent.

“This office will initially focus on commercial markets, especially residential and hospitality, but will eventually expand to opportunities in workplace and planning and urban design,” said CallisonRTKL Executive Director Todd Lundgren.

With this new opportunity, the firm hopes to build on our existing relationships, expand its network and strengthen its roster of clients.

“Having an official base in Berlin gives us the opportunity to build on our solid portfolio in Europe,” said Berlin Office Director Ramiro Forné. “As a tech hub and deeply creative city, Berlin is the ideal place for CallisonRTKL to provide our global perspective and strong, local knowledge of the Continent.”

CallisonRTKL has a long history of working in Europe with a portfolio that includes the Aquis shopping centre in Aachen, Germany, Torre Europe in Spain and Printemps department store in France, as well as an extensive roll-out of Hudson Bay stores across the Netherlands.

Berlin’s core team will include Paul Anstatt, Ramiro Forné and Maren Striker. CallisonRTKL will also partner with the firm’s parent company, Arcadis, in Berlin. The team will be attending Expo Real in October.
